JD: Where do you live now?
LD: Eugene, Oregon.
JD: Awesome, I lived in Seattle for a few years and loved it! What do you like about living in the Pacific Northwest?
LD: I can enjoy all four seasons. I went to college in Arizona so I knew the desert life wasn’t for me. We also have a stellar organic local food market unlike anywhere else in the country.
LD: Director of Marketing.
“I have a separate refrigerator just for hot sauce and beer.”
JD: What do you like about being in Marketing?
LD: Nerding out over SEO, Content, Social Media and Google.
JD: How did you get into that?
LD: It’s a career path that chose me. I was unemployed and seeking something greater than what I was currently doing.
JD: How do you find time to adventure, explore and keep up with your occupational demands?
LD: My job understands the importance of personal time and vacation. My schedule allows me to have three day weekends at least once a month. I also make sure to get outside during the week, which is really vital for staying sane.
JD: Any life hacks?
LD: Yea, don’t forget your poop shovel and biodegradable TP whenever you go exploring.
JD: Aside from the poop shovel, what five items would you need on a desert island?
LD: A joint, a 5th of whiskey, chapstick, Nuun hydration tabs and my dog Patsy.
JD: Do you have any morning rituals?
LD: I sit and meditate for at least five minutes.
JD: What happens if you don’t?
LD: I get stuck inside my mind chatter.
JD: How do you spend most of your time?
LD: Hiking, gardening, working on sustainability, and hanging with my dogs.
JD: Your recent obsession?
LD: Aardvark hot sauce.
JD: You’re obsessed with a hot sauce?
LD: Yes, that is the first thing that comes to mind. My boyfriend and I have a separate refrigerator just for hot sauce and beer.
JD: Sounds amazing.
JD: Secret Talent?
LD: Bloody Mary making champion.
JD: Green olives included?
LD: Of course, and pickles – always.
JD: What is your definition of success?
LD: Happiness within yourself.
JD: What is something you recently purchased, that you are in love with?
LD: Perfect for walking around in the ice and snow.
JD: The best part of being out in nature?
LD: No matter how many times you visit a place, it is always different.
JD: Do you go on road trips?
LD: Yes I do! I have two dogs and they practically come everywhere with us.
JD: What is your go-to road trip snack?
JD: Favorite place on earth?
LD: The PNW.
JD: Spirit Animal?
LD: My dog Patsy.
JD: Favorite quote?
LD: The hardest part is coming to the realization that nobody is really going to save you but yourself. Pain is life’s most valuable teacher and you will never find happiness until you are completely in love with yourself.
JD: Words of wisdom?
LD: If you do not love yourself, you cannot love anyone else. Don’t wait for anybody.
